Ownership and Management Information
To maintain the highest levels of transparency, accountability, and compliance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards, Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat: Humanity and Medicine outlines its formal ownership, management structure, and commitment to editorial independence below.
Journal Ownership
Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat: Humanity and Medicine is formally owned, hosted, and published by Universitas Sriwijaya, Indonesia. The journal's daily operations, academic direction, and editorial management are actively administered by a dedicated team from the Faculty of Medicine. Operating as an integral part of the university's academic ecosystem, the journal functions as a premier scholarly platform dedicated to the dissemination of impactful community service initiatives, specifically focusing on the fields of medicine, public health, and human empowerment.
Management and Editorial Authority
The operational management and strategic academic direction of the journal are fully delegated to the Editorial Board, operating under the leadership of the Editor-in-Chief.The board is composed of distinguished scholars, medical professionals, and practitioners with extensive expertise in public health, clinical practice, and community engagement. The Editorial Board holds exclusive authority over all editorial workflows, including manuscript evaluation, peer-review management, and final publication decisions. These decisions are driven strictly by scientific validity, ethical compliance, and alignment with the journal's core scope.
Editorial Independence
Universitas Sriwijaya, as the official publisher, unequivocally guarantees absolute editorial independence. The publishing institution does not dictate, interfere with, or influence the editorial decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of any manuscript. This strict separation between the publisher and the editorial team ensures that all published content is evaluated solely on its academic merit, methodological rigor, and societal impact, completely insulated from institutional, political, or commercial pressures.
Financial and Operational Support
The structural and operational expenses of the journal encompassing the maintenance of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) infrastructure, Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration, digital archiving, and administrative operations are primarily supported by Universitas Sriwijaya. Should the journal implement an Article Processing Charge (APC) to sustain high-quality, open-access publishing (as detailed in the Author Fees policy), the administration of such fees is handled entirely separately from the peer-review process. Financial contributions or APC payments exert absolutely no influence on the editorial assessment or the final decision to publish a manuscript.
