Diskusi Paska Penerbitan

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat: Humanity and Medicine is dedicated to fostering academic transparency and advancing scholarly discourse through active, post-publication dialogue. We welcome researchers, practitioners, peer reviewers, and the global healthcare community to engage with our published literature by providing constructive feedback, scientific inquiries, critiques, or formal responses. This framework operates strictly under the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to protect the accuracy and reliability of published scholarly records.

Objectives of Post-Publication Engagement

Post-publication discourse serves to cultivate an open intellectual exchange, refine interpretations of community healthcare interventions, highlight methodological limitations, and solidify the real-world value of published findings. Additionally, this open exchange provides a critical safety net to surface factual inaccuracies, data inconsistencies, or potential ethical oversights that may have bypassed pre-publication peer review.

Protocol for Submitting Commentary

Scholars and readers seeking to comment on a published article may submit their observations directly to the editorial team via our official communication channels. Submissions must adhere to the following standards:

  • Scientific Rigor: Comments must be evidence-based, directly relevant to the article's core methodology or findings, and focused on scholarly substance.
  • Professional Conduct: Submissions must employ respectful, non-discriminatory language. Personal attacks, unfounded allegations, or disclosures of confidential information will result in immediate rejection.

The editorial board independently evaluates every submission for scientific merit, relevance, and appropriateness before deciding on further action.

Authors' Right of Reply

When a formal commentary is accepted, the authors of the original paper are granted the right of reply to provide clarifications, present supplementary data, or acknowledge limitations. The editorial team facilitates this exchange to guarantee that the debate remains balanced, transparent, and grounded in objective science.

Publication of Letters and Communications

Receptive and scientifically sound contributions—alongside the authors' formal response—may be selected for publication within the journal platform under specific categories, such as a Letter to the Editor, Editorial Commentary, or dedicated Post-Publication Discussion entries. Any published communication will be permanently cross-linked with the original article to enable readers to follow the scientific discourse effortlessly. The final authority to accept and publish any commentary rests with the Chief Editor.

Editorial Corrections and Remedial Actions

Should post-publication discussions uncover verifiable errors, data discrepancies, or ethical concerns that impact the validity of the work, the editorial board will initiate a formal evaluation in alignment with our correction guidelines. Outcomes may include:

  • Publishing a formal Correction (Corrigendum/Erratum) to address specific technical errors.
  • Issuing an Expression of Concern while a complex inquiry remains ongoing.
  • Executing a formal Retraction if the core findings or ethical basis of the project are compromised.

Integrity and Permanent Scholarly Record

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat: Humanity and Medicine strictly prohibits "silent corrections" or covert alterations to published articles. Every substantive change or post-publication note is documented transparently and tied directly to the original manuscript. Through these protocols, our journal maintains an evolving, accountable, and trustworthy body of knowledge in community health and medicine.
