Pemeriksaan Kesehatan, Edukasi serta Penggunaan Obat Tradisonal Peserta Prolanis di Desa Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Gumawang OKU Timur
Abstrak
The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) is a health service with a proactive approach implemented in an integrated manner involving participants, healthcare facilities, and the National Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan). It aims to maintain the health of individuals with chronic illnesses in order to achieve optimal quality of life through effective and efficient healthcare services. The target population includes individuals suffering from diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, and other chronic diseases as determined by BPJS Kesehatan. Education on the use of traditional medicine is important due to the increasing use of herbal remedies and the public's trust in their effectiveness, especially for managing conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. The aim of this activity was to assess the health condition and improve knowledge regarding the use of herbal medicine among Prolanis participants at the Gumawang Community Health Center, Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency. The health education was delivered using a PowerPoint presentation, followed by discussion and Q&A sessions. Free health check-ups were also provided, including measurements of body weight, height, blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol. The evaluation of herbal medicine use among Prolanis participants who took part in the activity was analyzed descriptively. Most Prolanis participants were women and elderly individuals. A high prevalence of obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia was found. The majority of participants also used herbal medicine, indicating the need to integrate educational approaches on traditional medicine into chronic disease management, particularly among the elderly.
